Below are some of the most helpful studies and journal articles I have found on the topic of PMADs. These are by no means comprehensive, and there is always more research being done. In some areas, such as medication, what I have linked to will seem imbalanced, because what I found notable was not the studies that show medication is effective (since those are more prevalent and most in the PMAD world are aware of how it can be beneficial), but the ones that offer some alternative considerations. Likewise, there’s a lot on OCD and not much on other specific PMADs, because that’s an area I’ve done more research. Some of them are also older studies: I am not a doctor and don’t usually find a study unless a medical professional has mentioned it in a book or article, so it takes a while for new research to trickle down.
