Free Printable: Postpartum Planner

With each baby, I’ve felt I’ve prepared well, only to be caught off guard by something I could have done differently. With my third baby, it was scrambling to find a lactation consultant three days postpartum, not really having slept at all since the night before she was born, in excruciating pain because of baby’s posterior tongue tie.

I’m sure when we have another baby I’ll find other things I didn’t even think to plan for. And I know that even the most careful planning doesn’t guarantee a peaceful postpartum. But planning will put you in a better place to know what to expect, ask for and receive help, and not be caught off guard by as many things. After three babies and talking to other moms, I’ve settled on a postpartum plan that covers all my bases. From my own plan, I developed a postpartum planner that you can now download for free. Even if baby has already been born, you may find this helpful for streamlining life and routines.

This planner allows you to keep track of important information like phone numbers and upcoming doctor’s appointments, take into account considerations in three vital categories, and focus on building habits tailored to your needs. There are book recommendations, journaling pages, and more. Print it out and fill it in to prepare for a postpartum where you receive support, care for your body, and nourish your soul.

When it comes to preparing for PMADs, it will help you immensely to know who you’ll go to for help before the crisis. This planner helps with that, and also allows you to take steps ahead of time to minimize stress postpartum.
